Thanks so much for a very successful 2018 show season! I’m in the midst of finalizing my calendar for next year and will get it posted soon.
Shout out to all my Sisters on the Fly (SOTF) friends! What an awesome bunch of ladies! Despite the wet start to the weekend, we had a great camping weekend – lots of fun, food, and friends!
We all donated items for an auction that benefited the Artemis Center, which is a women’s domestic violence support group in Dayton. We raised about $4000 to donate to this worthwhile organization.
Can’t wait until the next SOTF event!

Great Lakes Fiber Show
Just wanted to let you know what a great show I had at Woolfest this year – at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark!
Many thanks to Cindy Bernardo for coordinating everything!
First, I had a wonderful class, with 12 great students, and we made nuno felted scarves. Each and every scarf was beautiful!
Then the show was great, too. Thanks to all who came by the booth and asked questions and purchased from me!
The buffalo ranch/studio is coming along….soon to be a shop (by appointment) and we’ll be offering fiber workshops soon! Stay tuned….
Take care… Kathy
Boy, did we have fun last week down at Morning Star Fiber! Many thanks to JC, Dave, and the guys for hosting us and answering tons of questions! We rented time on their felting machines, and the creative juices were flowing! I was making pre-felts.
Check out this piece my friend, Kate McMahon made! It’s now a beautiful wall hanging. Check out Morning Star’s website and products….http://www.morningstarfiber.com/
I had the pleasure of attending the Pittsburgh knit and crochet show a week ago.
Lo and behold, in the make and take area, was fiber artist Barbara Assejew from New Jersey. Check our her shop on Etsy – http://www.etsy.com/shop/amberstudios .
OMG! She had these beautiful, sustainable, fun art scarves! Talk about inspirational! And green as green can be – they’re recycled! It was great to see her scarves and think of all the possibilities!
Thanks, Barbara for coming to Pittsburgh, and thanks, Gloria Horn for providing those wonderful Baby Lock embellisher machines to play on again this year!
